This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use EarnOpus, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it the way we would want to read it: short, specific and honest about the trade-offs.
Who is responsible for your data
The company operating EarnOpus is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about any privacy matter through the support page or the support email address shown on this site.
The data we collect
We collect only what we need to run a rewards service and to keep it fair. That comes down to six groups of data:
- Account details: your email address, username, country, language and a hashed version of your password, or the identifier we receive if you sign in through a social account
- Device and connection data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser, advertising identifier and signals that reveal VPNs, emulators or duplicate accounts
- Activity: the tasks and surveys you start, the goals partners confirm, your rewards, bonuses, referrals and race results
- Payout details: the payout email address or wallet you enter, your withdrawal history and, when a check is required, identity documents
- Communications: messages you send to support and what you post in the community chat
- Cookie and local storage data, as described in our cookie policy
Why we use it
Every use of your data rests on a lawful ground. The main purposes and their grounds are:
- To run your account, track your tasks and credit your rewards: performing our contract with you
- To detect fraud, duplicate accounts and abuse of partner rules: our legitimate interest in a fair service, shared by every honest member
- To pay you and to meet anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting duties: legal obligations
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it: your consent where cookies are involved, otherwise our legitimate interest
- To send service messages such as payout confirmations and security alerts: performing our contract with you
- To send news and promotions: only with your consent, which you can withdraw in one click
International transfers
Some of our providers and partners are located outside your country. When personal data leaves your region we rely on recognised safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, so that it keeps a comparable level of protection.
How long we keep it
We keep data only for as long as we have a reason to. After that it is deleted or made anonymous.
- Account and activity data: for as long as your account is open, and up to twenty-four months afterwards to resolve disputes and prevent repeat abuse
- Payout and transaction records: for the period financial and tax law requires, typically five to ten years
- Identity verification records: five years after your last transaction, as anti-money-laundering rules require
- Security and access logs: up to twelve months
- Support conversations: up to twenty-four months after the ticket is closed
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in Europe or the KVKK in Türkiye give you the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to certain uses, to receive a copy in a portable format and to withdraw consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, write to us from the email address on your account. We reply within thirty days. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the data protection authority of your country.
How we protect it
Traffic to and from EarnOpus is encrypted, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, identity documents are kept apart from everyday systems, and staff access is limited to the people who need it and is logged. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a unique password and tell us quickly if something looks wrong.
Children
EarnOpus is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has opened an account, we close it and delete the related data.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and its date. If the change is significant we will also tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
